Boruto: Naruto's Power-Up Has Already Been Confirmed (2024)

The Boruto series continues to pick up steam and fans know that the upcoming arc is certainly going to be very important, especially because it will drive the story closer to the point that every fan is waiting to see, and that is, the eventual destruction of Konoha and the battle between Boruto and Kawaki. More importantly, readers are eagerly waiting for the return of Naruto Uzumaki, the 7th Hokage of the Village, as things stand right now, it is still some time for Naruto to reappear in the story.

Naruto has been sealed by Kawaki, and at the time when he fights Boruto, Naruto is still sealed. Fans have been waiting for his return for quite a long time now, and while they have an exhausting wait ahead of themselves, there is good news as well. The course that the Boruto manga has taken over the last few months has essentially confirmed that Naruto will gain major powers in Two Blue Vortex.

As fans know, Naruto Uzumaki suffered tremendously in the Boruto series. This should not come as a surprise to anyone, given how poor the treatment of all the characters from the old generation has been in this manga. It has been one of the biggest talking points in regards to Boruto, and is certainly something that all Naruto fans have criticized, and rightly so. In the case of Naruto Uzumaki, his lifelong partner, Kurama, was completely stripped from him, and this left him powerless. Naruto was then sealed by Kawaki, and this eventually resulted in him being cut out of the story entirely, sad as that might have been. These were the major issues that Naruto faced in the Boruto series, and they certainly frustrated the fans to no end.

When the Boruto series began, fans knew that it was still an extension of Naruto. Of course, Boruto was to be the protagonist in the new series, but, the fact is that the universe is the same one that Naruto exists in, and Naruto is a cult hero. Fans certainly did not expect Naruto to be the protagonist of the series or be at the forefront of things at all times. But, for him to be involved in the plot and have his achievements and power respected at all times, his legacy not be tainted, is the bare minimum.

Unfortunately, that has not happened in the Boruto series, which is precisely why fans are waiting for his eventual return, so, at the very least, Naruto can enjoy his life peacefully and continue being the Hokage that he always wanted to be.

Naruto Uzumaki lost the power of Kurama in the fight against Isshiki. Prior to this deadly battle began, Naruto knew that he was going to fight with everything that he had. Naruto and Kurama utilized a strategy that used up their chakra as kernels to give rise to a newer form of energy. This energy was so great that even Isshiki paled in comparison to it. Naruto was successfully able to beat Isshiki, but this sacrifice was such that it left him powerless in the following arcs. Granted, Naruto still had the power of Sage Mode at his disposal, but it was never going to be enough.

This is one of the reasons why Kawaki decided to seal Naruto away. But, eventually, Naruto will return, and when he does, he will need a power-up. There is absolutely no way that Naruto can lead the village as the Hokage by being powerless or a shell of his former self. Similarly, fans cannot expect Naruto to always be on the sidelines, especially being such an important figure, when major battles take place in the future once he returns. In one way or another, Naruto has to be at the forefront of things, and that is precisely why he must gain further powers in the future of Boruto.

Fans have been wondering as to how Naruto Uzumaki will gain his power, or, if he will even gain any power at all. Thankfully, Boruto manga has now essentially confirmed indirectly that Naruto Uzumaki will gain a power-up. This is because Sasuke Uchiha, whom Naruto believes to be his brother and, at the same time, his rival, has gotten stronger during the time skip. While Naruto was sealed, Sasuke trained with Boruto Uzumaki during the time skip and achieved a higher level of strength. This was clear from when Sasuke fought against Code, who had his limiters removed from his body. Despite that, Sasuke was able to take him on effectively and even injure him In battle, taking one of his eyes from him, and crippling him greatly.

On top of that, Sasuke was facing off against a horde of Claw Grimes, and yet, he held his own very well. Previously, Sasuke wasn't even able to make a dent in the battle against Jigen, despite having his Rinnegan at that time. Even though he ended up getting sealed, for him to be able to impress against Code in battle and even injure him is certainly a sign of great progress.

Kishimoto has previously stated that Naruto and Sasuke must always grow together. If one grows stronger, the other must as well. Of course, Sasuke did not gain a power-up when Naruto got access to Baryon Mode, but they still got nerfed equally, which essentially meant that the balance was maintained. Right now, however, the balance has been disrupted and Sasuke has pulled ahead. In fact, the difference in strength between Sasuke and Naruto is likely great, which means it is essentially confirmed that once Naruto returns, he will, in one way or another, make ground and reach the same level as Sasuke.

How Will Naruto Gain A Power-Up?

Of course, there are many ways in which Naruto and Sasuke can gain their powers. Fans were hoping that Naruto would somehow reunite with Kurama. But, he's now been passed on to Himawari, so that is not going to happen anymore. But, the juvenile Ten Tails still exists and perhaps Naruto can become a Jinchuriki of this beast instead. This would also parallel how Hagoromo sealed the Ten-Tails inside his body and saved the world. If this doesn't come to pass, then Naruto will have to develop unconventional ways to power up his Sage Mode, among other things.

It must also be kept in mind that Naruto is still quite young and for him, gaining new abilities and growing stronger should not be impossible. Of course, before anything happens, fans will have to wait a bit because Naruto's return doesn't seem to be imminent at all.
